Feb. 19 - No School - President's Day

Feb. 21 - Early Release Day for Teacher Professional Development (11:57 a.m. dismissal)

Mar. 1 - Half Day for Records Day/End of 2nd Trimester (11:27 a.m. dismissal)

Reha's Report

Dear Scott School Families,

Valentine's Day was spent exchanging specially selected cards and enjoying classroom celebrations.  It is such a feel-good holiday which students enjoy, and it's a perfect opportunity for students to enhance social-emotional relationships with peers in meaningful ways.  We had a splendid time this week showing our appreciation and care for classmates and staff.

The next two weeks of school are not typical five-day ones.  DPS does not have school on Monday, February 19th, which is President's Day.  Then Wednesday, February 21st, is an early release day for teacher professional development, and Scott School will dismiss at 11:57 a.m.   Second semester is coming to a close as well on Friday, March 1st, so Scott students have a half day of school for Records Day, and dismissal will be at 11:27 a.m. that day.  Be sure to mark your calendar!

Kind regards,

Linda Reha

Recess Recreation

Scott students enjoy our expansive playground at recess and develop positive peer relationships through play.  We are excited about getting new play structures and equipment this summer as a result of our gracious community voting to pass the last bond.  Thank you!

ID Requirement for Students to be Picked Up

Student safety is a priority.  Please bring proper identification each time your child is picked up from school.  Here are some ways adults picking up students can be identified:

Allergy Awareness

There are some Scott students who have health-threatening nut allergies in our building.  Scott School is a 'No Nut' building.  Pack items that do not contain nuts for your child's lunch and snack.  It is critically important that we provide a safe learning environment for all students, and your help with this is needed and appreciated.  Please always contact your child's teacher if you have a concern about an allergy or other health condition related to your child that they should be aware of.  Also, if your child has a medical need, including food or other allergies, don't forget to update your child's Medical Management Plan by completing and submitting the district forms to the office before school starts so we can follow protocols to keep your child safe.

Medical Forms

In order for Scott School personnel to administer medication to your child when we return to in person instruction, you must:

Medication and other medical forms can be found on our DeWitt Public Schools website.
