Reha's Report
Dear Scott School Families,
Spring has sprung! The warm weather and Spring Break are a combination of joy and happiness. that summer weather is on it's way. I hope you and your family have an enjoyable time off and your child returns to school rejuvenated for the remaining weeks until Summer Break. Longer days and time outdoors brings newfound energy and excitement for all, including myself.
When we return from Spring Break, students can expect M-STEP (3rd grade only), NWEA, and Acadience testing to occur. Headphones or earbuds are needed for all 3rd graders when they take the ELA M-STEP assessment, and all 2nd graders also need headphones or earbuds for both the Reading and Math NWEA assessments. Thank you for sending a pair into school with your child if you're able to. We will have a limited amount available for students who need them. Please read further down in this newsletter for preparation tips and testing dates. Thanks in advance for helping your child have successful spring testing experiences.
Kind regards,
Linda Reha
Scott School Principal

PTA Sponsored Staff Appreciation Week
Hello Scott School Families.
Each year we celebrate our wonderful teachers and staff members during the DeWitt Elementary PTA Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week which is being held this year during the week of May 2nd to May 6th. Due to the overwhelming support from parents, last year was a HUGE success. All of the teachers and staff definitely felt the outpouring of support. We have been busy planning and we are excited for the opportunity to show our teachers and all staff members, once again, the appreciation they deserve!
We need your help to make this happen!! Please check the sign up genius link for more information and to sign up to support our amazing teachers and staff!

2022-23 Class Placements
Gathering information for 2022-23 class placements will start soon. Families will receive a letter with a Parent/Guardian Input Form in April. This form is the most conducive and beneficial way to provide input for placement consideration. If you would like to provide input, please use the form in lieu of sending emails. DeWitt Public Schools uses a balanced classroom approach to class placements. Therefore, teacher requests cannot and will not be honored. Thank you for respecting this process and trusting that our school team works extremely hard on every student's placement for a positive school experience.
PTA Appreciation
Scott School staff are shouting THANK YOU from the rooftop to our DeWitt PTA for putting on a fantastic Conference Cuisine last week. The meals and snacks were out of this world and a real help on conference nights. Our PTA is fantastic, awesome, fabulous, and amazing!

At the bottom of this web page a 3 step process for qualifying and applying for the program is provided: https://acpbenefit.org/
There are several providers in our area that participate with the program, including both hard wired and mobile options so interested families who qualify can choose the best plan for them.
Yearbook Ordering
Yearbook Order Deadline: 4/4/2022
Free Breakfast & Lunch Opportunity
DeWitt Public Schools is participating in the Seamless Summer Option as part of the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs this year. This means that every child can access a free school lunch and/or breakfast each day. Read the attached document for more details, and please be sure to complete and submit the necessary paperwork for Free and Reduced Lunch because this information determines the amount of state and federal funding our school receives.
There will only be one lunch choice this year, and it will be a cold, boxed option. Stay tuned for an updated menu to be posted on the district website soon. At this time, students will not be able to purchase only milk. We are hoping to add this option at some point in the year.

In order for Scott School personnel to administer medication to your child, parents/guardians must:

Be sure non-prescription medication is in its original container accompanied by a parent’s signature.

If your child has a medical condition, please be sure to complete a Medical Management Plan for your child and turn it in at the office.
